Bradley, Dylan, and I make “the fast group” and speed 47 miles to Missoula in just over 2 hours.
I dedicated today to Trisha, the daughter of one of the ladies at last night’s host. Trisha passed from cancer at only 6 years old. I also dedicate today to Ginny, who lost her mother when she was 10 and more recently her husband, brother, and in-laws to cancer.
Trisha and Ginny, today is for you.
We wake up to freezing weather and winds, finish in abnormally hot afternoon, and enjoy a very nice dinner.
I dedicated today to Tiffany, the wonderful lady who helped us out yesterday in Butte, and to the 14-year-old she knows who recently passed from cancer. I also dedicated today to the owner of that Best Western whose mother passed from cancer.
Today we rode into Yellowstone National Park from the Wyoming side. We only rode to the park entrance and shuttled to our campsites – it was cheaper and also safer due to the large volume of traffic and number of wild animals. The ride in was fabulous and very casual, as was sitting around the fire that night and crossing something off my bucket list 😉
I dedicated today to Eleanor Jackson Morgan, mother of Janet Morgan Riggs, the current President of Gettysburg College. In JMR’s own words, Eleanor was “my biggest supporter, my role model, and the wind beneath my wings. She died on February 3, 1990 – 23 years ago – and I still miss her everyday”
JMR is one of the coolest people I know and I am proud to ride for her and Eleanor. Today is for you both.
