Gettysburg has never seemed as big as it does now that I am a senior.  I feel so…old.  All around me I see new faces, young faces.  They do not know.  They do not remember.  They never experienced.  I feel isolated by those who surround me.  Even my fellow seniors, still caught in the throng or looking to more education. Even they seem distant.

What is worse is that all those who know are gone.  Gone to the other side of the state, the country, the Earth.  They’ve moved on and left me behind to finish my time.  But I do not want to finish.  I want to be free.  I want to move on, to leave behind the classroom and discover the world.
